The Flood Within

Silence prevails.

The bustling bayou stands still within, with its soulful rhythmic beat.

Gasps for precious air close in, the arctic chill sets.

Malfunction. System shut down.

Sirens.

Sirens . . . their cajun lights wailed.

Sirens.

Stretched out, convulsing.

Body lost to his worship, mind trapped.

Worlds collide in wonder.

Mind consumes body.

Move…

No…

MOVE!

Sound activates body.

Side by side arms rise, restrained.

Closer, closer, reaching for light. Scream.

White light shines so bright.

Gah . . .

Gah . . . Silence screams.

Gah…

Warmth, a sedation unearthly.

Safe in the arms, they release to the world.

His light fades into the distance, I radiate into the world.

Silence prevails.
